Membership & how to join:

Our members range from newborn babies to hardy souls in their nineties, and are a friendly, welcoming bunch. Our inclusive membership prices are designed to encourage couples and families to join, but we certainly don't discriminate against singles. And because we are not a club in the usual sense, you are not required to do maintenance. All you have to do is enjoy yourself! If you're looking for a peaceful, family-orientated place to enjoy naturism, Spielplatz is the place for you.

To join, you must start with a Day Visit. This trial visit allows you and us to decide if Spielplatz is the right place for you. Successful applicants will be notified as soon as possible after their initial visit.

(Please note: Although Full Membership offers you year-round access to our grounds, Day Visits are only possible during our summer season, which runs from Good Friday through 30th September each year.)

• Associate Membership, Functions and sauna only :- £60.00
• Student (per person, with Student I.D.), with carpark :- £100.00 per person
• Student (per person, with Student I.D.), without car :- £90.00 per person

*The Inner carpark is reserved for our members with mobility problems, and there is currently a lengthy waiting list.

DAY VISITS:

We encourage bona-fide naturists to visit Spielplatz for a peaceful, relaxing day out. To book your trial visit, simply phone ahead and let us know when you would like to come. On the day, bring along a photo I.D. (passport, new-style driving license, etc), your own towel to sit on, and £20 in cash. Members of ABNC clubs with proof of membership receive a £5 discount. We will require you to fill in a short form with your name, address, and other pertinent details, take your picture, answer any questions you may have, and then you'll be free to explore and enjoy our facilities. If you would like someone to show you around your first time, please let us know when you phone.

We are family-orientated, so if you have any flashy or excessive piercings, especially in the genital areas, please remove them before you visit. We also do not allow any photography, so cameras of any kind, including phone cameras, should be left at home or locked safely in your car.

Once you experience Spielplatz's unique atmosphere, we're sure you'll want to become a full member. When your application is accepted and you join within a month of your initial visit, we will deduct your day-visit fee from your annual membership subscription for the first year.

FROM THE M1:

• Take Junction 6 (A405) towards St Albans. Cross over the M25, and at the next roundabout (there is a white hotel on your left and a petrol station straight ahead), go all the way around and head back towards the M25. Lye Lane is about 200 yards on the left. Spielplatz is approximately ½ mile down Lye Lane on the left. There is a yellow 'Spielplatz' sign and a small red post-box, and ours is the paved drive. Drive up to the gates, and speak to Reception via the intercom.

FROM THE M25:

• Take Junction 21A (A405) towards St Albans. At the next roundabout (there is a white hotel on your left and a petrol station straight ahead), go all the way around and head back towards the M25. BY TRAIN:

• Take the 'St Albans Abbey' local line from Watford Junction or St Albans, and get off at Bricket Wood station. Turn left onto Station Road, walk up the hill, over the bridge, and then turn left onto West Riding. After ¼ mile, turn right onto Lye Lane. Spielplatz is approximately ½ mile down Lye Lane on the right. There is a yellow 'Spielplatz' sign and a small red post-box, and ours is the paved drive. Walk up to the gates, and speak to Reception via the intercom.

BY BUS:

• The 321 bus runs between Watford and St Albans, and stops at the end of Lye Lane. Spielplatz is approximately ½ mile down Lye Lane on the left. There is a yellow 'Spielplatz' sign and a small red post-box, and ours is the paved drive. Walk up to the gates, and speak to Reception via the intercom.
